I just returned from an amazing weekend. I’m
exhausted – but the happy kind!
Women of Faith is America’s largest women’s conference. It
convenes about 20 times a year in cities all over the United
States and is two days of inspiration, praise and worship music
and great fellowship with like-minded women from different parts
of the country.
The speakers are great. They make you laugh and cry and think
and leave you feeling as if you’ve turned a corner in life – or
at least your life has been re-charged.
Each of the speakers bring so much energy to the stage, it makes
me wonder how they keep it up with their schedule. You can see
that they love their work and they love each other. I first
thought, “Who wouldn’t love their work – working with all these
powerful Christians and doing what they love to do.” But I have
the feeling that each one would be the same person no matter
what their job was. They would be just as happy and enthusiastic
if they worked at Wal-mart or a tollbooth on the toll road.
That attitude comes from keeping in contact with the Father and
allowing Him to supply the strength. I’m sure they all have off
days, too – I’m sure they aren’t perfect – but they know where
to go to get relief.
Coming away from the conference, my resolution is to keep
looking to the Bible for life-giving peace and words to live by.
I’ll study it not to find rules but to find and remember the
love of God.
The theme of this year’s conference – Infinite Grace.
“And God is able to make grace abound to you, that
always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an
abundance for every good deed.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
I did a study of this verse and wrote about it in the Christian
Living Site at BellaOnline.com It is here: called
Giving According to God's Promise.
