Impinge

The dictionary gives this definition. “to encroach upon, touch, of affect”

Synonyms are: infringe, bear upon, or intrude.

It seems to me that everything we do affects others. Everything we do touches someone else’s life. The good we do touches lives with goodness. The evil we do affects others in a similar manner.
Have you ever had the thought that no one really sees you? I sometimes feel that I am on my own, that what I do with my life doesn’t matter. But, in truth, everything I do impinges on someone.
Something as little as a smile can brighten a stranger’s day. That person is apt to smile at someone else and that person may also pass it on.
In the same way an unkindness will travel, hurting the lives of many people who are unknown to the originator.
Every morning, I will try to remind myself that what I do today is important. I will be impinging all day long.
