An Elegant Breakfast
Dannon Yogurt or Kroger Brand YogurtI was on vacation in sunny Florida at my favorite hotel. The hotel includes a gourmet restaurant. They serve all kinds of cuisine, catering to world travelers, sun worshipers and beach bums It was here that I discovered that in food, presentation makes all the difference. I try to stay on a healthy diet, especially on the beach where I can't hide my figure, The restaurant offered yogurt for breakfast. It was delivered to my table in a stemmed dessert dish - vanilla yogurt on the bottom with fruit on the top. I ordered it almost every morning. It was excellent, so good that I finally asked the waitress if she knew the brand, thinking that it was a brand that was only available to gourmet restaurants. She told me that it was Dannon Fruit on the Bottom. It was low fat. What a surprise. I had eaten it before.
The elegant presentation caused me to think that it was a better yogurt. home, I searched out a grocery store that stocked Dannon Fruit on the Bottom. I now take the time to turn it upside in a pretty dish. The yogurt ends up on the bottom with the fruit on the top. I pamper myself while consuming fewer calories.
With that revelation made, I later decided to try other low fat - fruit on the bottom yogurt brands. I found Kroger brand. The Kroger brand is just as good tasting - if not slightly better. However the yogurt is not in as firm a consistency as the Dannon. Where the Dannon stays firm and separated from the fruit when placed in the dish, the Droger brand ends up somewhat mixed.
